Academic Support Program

The 2013-14 academic year marks our 2nd year of programming. The year has been filled with great opportunities and we made great strides at surpassing our impact goals. We targeted local students in the Houston and surrounding areas, and are on track to reach nearly 1,000 students by the end of 2014. Check out the photo gallery to get a glimpse into our Academic Support Program utilizing our mobile technology lab which was made possible by the United Way's Community Building Grant ( Awarded December 2013).

Majic 102’s Sunday Morning Live

On Sunday, July 7, 2013, The Providence on Southmore, Inc. was featured on Majic 102’s Sunday Morning Live with host Marcus Davis.  This opportunity afforded founder, Dr. Karla Brown and board member, Nita Webber an opportunity to expound upon the mission of the organization.  Their message was also a call to the community to recruit additional students for the organization’s college support services, to increase their volunteer base, and to kick-off the organization’s summer fundraiser campaign.
